The Illinois Campus Research Board was established in June of 1932 to serve the campus as a conduit to distribute funding in support of individual or group research projects to faculty members. While funding from the Board is not intended to be a source of continuing support for research activities or research facilities, the Board expects to:

The Board supports faculty research needs through five distinct programs – Research Board Awards, the Performing Arts & Design Program, the Humanities Released Time Program, and the Scholars’ Travel Fund Program.

The Campus Research Board operates on an academic year schedule, with no activity during the summer months.
